12/15/15  Bearden Hires Full-Time City Marshall

The Bearden City Council met last night at city council chambers...the council went into executive session for a short time last night to discuss the hiring of a full time deputy city marshall. Following the meeting, city councilman Bobby Steelman made a motion.

The motion was unanimously accepted by the council. Beginning January 1, Gary Floyd will  be considered a full time deputy at a pay rate of $15.00 an hour.

Mayor Iva Lou Stoker announced that a town hall meeting will be held prior to the January 11 meeting of the city council for the purpose of discussing a water-sewer rate increase.

It was also announced at the meeting that the bazaar that was held last Saturday as a fund raiser for the proposed library-museum, raised $4,267.00 and according to council woman Denise Link items are still being sold.
