12/15/15   Two Rison Men In Jail On Murder Charges

 

Two Rison men are in custody at the Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of capital murder, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse.

According to a report released by Gary Young, Chief Deputy of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department, 20 year old Jonathan Guenther of Rison and 20 year old Brad  Hunter Smith of Rison are being held without bond. An additional arrest was made of another individual for hindering arrest and apprehension. That individual, not identified, was released from custoday after posting a $200,000.00 bond.

On December 7,  Allbright family members reported that 22 year old Cherrish Faith Allbright of Rison was missing. The family reported that  Allbright left her grandmother's houuse on December 3 and had not been seen or heard from since that date.

According to Young, on December 10 the investigation changed from a missing persons case to a homicide investigation. On the night of the 10, information obtained in the investigation led to the location and recovery of the body of Cherrish Allbright. The body was turned over to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Young says the investigation is still open and additional arrests could be forthcoming. The investigation was conducted by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department with the assistance of the State Police and officers of the Arkansas Game and Fish Enforcement Division.
