11/23/15   Two Separate Collisions Result In Fatalities

 

A two car collision on I-630 in Little Rock on Saturday resulted in the death of an 80 year old Little Rock woman. 

According to a preliminary State Police report, a 2015 Toyota Sienna driven by 42 year old Ronald Gibs of Beebe was westbound on I-630.  A second vehicle, a 2002 Ford F-150, driven by 80 year old William P. Bristow of Little Rock was entering I-630 from the University on-ramp.  Bristow lost control and crossed the right lane of traffic to the middle lane.  The Gibs vehicle struck Bristow's, causing the pickup truck to hit the concrete barrier. Lynell Bristown was pronounced dead at the UA-MS ER.  Gibs was treated for his injuries at UA-MS as well. The roadway was wet at the time of the crash and the skies cloudy at 9:50 Saturday morning.

Another fatality occurred Saturday night in Little River County that took the life of a pedestrian, identified as 41 year old Mario Rodriquez-Villanueva of Lonoke. 

A 2015 Chevy pickup truck was traveling east on state highway 32 and struck Villanueva who was attempting to run across the highway.  He was pronounced dead at the scene by Little River Coroner Roddey Smith.   The driver of the truck was not identified.  State Trooper Ernesto Echevarria investigated the fatality that occurred at 6:44 Saturday evening.
