11/18/15  Terry Wayne Jones Charged Under Habitual Criminal Act

Terry Wayne Jones II of Fordyce has been charged in circuit court in Dallas County with filing a false report of a crime and being a habitual criminal.

According to a report filed in the circuit clerk's office, Angela Thomas reported on July 27,  someone had stolen her car.  When she went to the Fordyce Police Department and spoke to Police Chief Jimmy Vaughn, Thomas was advised that her car wasn't stolen and had been used in a burglary at a Warren Pharmacy, a Hampton Pharmacy and was abandoned in Smackover where it was impounded.

Thomas told police on July 26, her cousin, Terry W. Jones II had asked to  borrow her car to go visit a friend, she agreed to let him use it.  On July 27,  Jones called her and told her to file a report with police because her vehicle had been stolen.  When police found the vehicle abandoned in Smackover it contained merchandise taken from the Warren Pharmacy.

Jones has two counts of aggravated robbery on his record from 2007 and one charge of theft of property in 2007.  The prosecutor will seek to have Jones tried under the habitual criminal statute which allows for the judge to give him more jail time.  Jones' case is pending in circuit court.
