11/16/15  Fordyce Man Faces Felony Charges

A 48 year old Fordyce man has been charged with multiple felonies following an incident that occurred Saturday, November 7,  at 520 Dallas County Road 115. 

Dallas County Deputy Larry Bennett received a call from the dispatcher stating that Stephanie Steward called wanting someone to pick up her cousin, Misty Ragan at that address because she was being held there against her will by Russell King.  Ragan told dispatchers that King was in possession of several guns and grenades and had the woods around his house booby trapped.  He said if the police showed up there would be a blood bath. Ragan told dispatch King had beat her and threatened to harm her.

Later on King was arrested wearing a bullet proof vest.  When officers searched King's residence they found a marijuana grinder but no more weapons. King was charged with 3^rd degree domestic battery, possession of a firearm by a felon, terroristic threatening and criminal possession of body armor.
