11/16/15  Break-ins And Thefts In Ouachita County

 

Ouachita County Deputy Michael Davidson responded to a call of a break-in on Ouachita County Road 151.  Jerry Westfall, owner of L&P Westfall Inc. reported that someone had broken into a log loader during the night and stole the battery.  He said he searched through the loader and skidder and couldn't find anything else missing.  Davidson advised Westfall he would recommend more patrols in the area.

On November 5, Deputy William Carman reported to the Ouachita County Shop in reference to a theft of property call. 

County employee Ray Anderson told Carman the day before he had seen a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a road grader.  Anderson said the vehicle sped away as he approached in his truck, however Anderson did get a license number.  Upon inspection of the area, Anderson saw spilt diesel fuel and a gas cap lying on the  ground and he discovered that two 12 volt John Deer batteries were missing valued at over  800 dollars and 90 gallons of diesel fuel was taken. 

Information regarding the theft was turned over the the CID division of the Ouachita  County Sheriff's office.
