11/16/15  Escape From Dallas County Jail Foiled

Dallas County authorities foiled an attempted escape from the Dallas County detention facility.  According to an incident report dated October 10, Dallas County Sheriff Stan McGahee received information that an inmate identified as Paul Grice of Warren was planning an escape with the assistance of Grice's mother, Judy Grice and his girl friend, Kimberly Booker.

A search of Grice's pod uncovered a cell phone with incriminating information on it and said he had talked about an escape but decided not go through with it.  After Paul was locked down, his phone was getting messages.  The messages were from Paul's mother who said they were in position to pick him up.

Grice's mother and girl friend were later picked up at a location on Charlotte Street.  Both were taken into custody.  Booker had outstanding  felony warrants from Monticello and was picked up by them.  Mrs. Grice was taken to the Ouachita County Detention center to be housed.

A check of the perimeter fence at the Dallas county detention center was later checked and the fence behind the shop had been tampered with. Grice was charged with conspiracy to commit 2nd degree escape, a class C felony.
