11/13/15  Jimmy "Red" Parker Day In Fordyce

This is Jimmy “Red” Parker day in Fordyce...a salute to the coach who began his coaching career in Fordyce back in 1953.  Parker coached the Redbugs to three consecutive undefeated seasons and was hired away to coach what is now known at UA-Monticello..and he's held coaching jobs at Rison, where he won a state title..Bearden and came back to Fordyce and coached from 2003-2005. He recently announced his retirement at Harmony Grove at Haskill where he now coaches and will lead his team in a play-off game tonight against the Fordyce Redbugs on historic Paul “Bear”Bryant field. Joe Bill Meador played under Parker as second string quarterback and told us about the special ceremony for Coach Parker tonight prior to the game.
