11/11/15  Red Parker Returns To Bear Bryant Stadium Friday

It will be a night to remember this Friday night when the Fordyce Redbugs square  off against Benton-Harmony Grove in the first play-off game.  It will be a night to remember in that the coach for Benton-Harmony Grove is the same coach that led the Fordyce Redbugs to three back-to-back perfect seasons back in he 50's..the famous Jimmy “Red” Parker.  Joe Bill Meador played not only football under coach Parker but Little League baseball as well.  Meador, on South Arkansas Today, told us about the special salute to Parker on Friday.

And of course you'll hear that game Friday night on KQ-102.3 and coatesmedia,com,Jesse Kelly with the play-by-play.

In Ouachita County..there are a couple of races.

Betty R. Wilson, Ouachita County Circuit Clerk is being challenged by

Gladys Ferguson Nettles.  Nettles currently is employed in the Ouachita County

Assessor's office.  Wilson has held the Circuit Clerk's position since 2009 and

was employed in the office prior to that.

The other race is for Ouachita County Coroner.  Sylvester Lee Smith Jr. is the

incumbent.  His challenger is Kenneth “Kenny” Morris.

The Democratic and Republican Primary election is March 1^st.
