11/06/15  More Ouachita County Filings

There have been a couple more filings for political office in Ouachita County.  Ouachita County Treasurer Melinda “Missy” Chambers told  us at the  Quorum Court meeting Tuesday night she planned to file for re-election and she  has made it official. 

Chambers said in a news release she's enjoyed her three years as county treasurer and wants to continue working with county officials, schools and cities.  She is a native of Camden.

An El Dorado attorney has filed for the District 7 seat on the Arkansas General Assembly, a seat that has been held by John Baine but Baine decided not to run for re-election. Floyd M. Thomas Jr. of El Dorado has been practicing law in El Dorado since 1974 and says he wants to use his skills to serve the citizens of South Arkansas.. his home for 50 years. District 7 covers parts of Ouachita, Union and Calhoun Counties.
