11/02/15  Bee Keeping Short Courses Coming To South Arkansas

 

If you're interested in bee keeping you'll have the opportunity to learn everything you need to know to begin safely and successfully keeping honey bees, during a series of weekly classes offered at various locations around the state. The Complete Beekeeping Short Course will be taught at Magnolia and .Monticello. 

Each course will meet one evening a week for three consecutive weeks and will cover a wide range of topics.  In addition to learning how to harvest honey and beeswax, participants will learn about relevant laws and regulations governing beekeeping in Arkansas.  The course if open to everyone, and no prior experience with bees is necessary.

The course will be held in Magnolia at Union Street Station at 406 West Union Street beginning this evening.  The hours at 6-9pm.  The course will also be held November 9 and 16 at Magnolia. The course will be held in Monticello at UAM Februry 15, 22 and 29. To attend the Magnolia course, contact the Columbia County Extension office at 870-235-3720. There's no charge to take the courses.
