11/02/15  Mississippi Man Arrested In Connection With A Pine Bluff Man's Death

A Mississippi man has been arrested in the death of another man in Pine Bluff early Saturday morning.  According to a report from KARK TV,  44 year  old William Dodson of Mississippi was taken into custody Saturday afternoon.

Dodson was driving a truck and struck 39 year old Jimmy Edwards in the 3900 block of Mallard Drive in Pine Bluff. According to a spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's office, Edwards had been involved in an on-going dispute with Dodson that originated in Star City. Dodson is believed to be Edwards' sister's estranged boyfriend.

Dodson fled the area in a Dodge Duelly pickup truck and was believed headed for Monticello. Edwards was transported to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center Emergency  room where he was pronounced dead. Dodson is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Center.  He's expected to be charged with manslaughter.
