10/28/15  A 24-Yeard-Old Camden Man Faces Multiple Criminal Charges In Ouachita Court

A 24 year old Camden man has been charged with multiple criminal charges. According to Ouachita County Circuit Court records, deputy prosecuting attorney R. Jeffrey Sawyer filed charges of burglary, theft of property, endangering the welfare of a minor and 3rd degree domestic battery.

The charges were filed against Jacovis Leo Wayne of Camden in connection with incidents that occurred on January 21, April 8 and May 15. In each instance Camden police were called to the residence of Eugenia Watts at 843 Glassell in Camden.

On January 21, Watts reported to police that Wayne, an ex-boyfriend, kicked in her door and struck her in the face, taking some money and a phone.

On April 8, Camden police were called to the same address and saw Wayne running out the back door but they were unable to apprehend him.  Wayne later returned to the house, took Watts' phone and vehicle worth an estimated nine thousand dollars.

On May 15, police were called back to Watts' home, Wayne left before police arrived.  Watts said Wayne showed up wanting money and when he got angry she left with her daughter.  When she returned, her TV and $300.00 were missing.  Wayne allegedly struck her 8 year old daughter, causing her nose to bleed.

Appearing in Circuit Court on September 25 before Circuit Judge Singleton, Wayne was released on $150,000.00 bond pending his appearance in court.  The stipulations for his release, good behavior, no contact with Watts and he is confined to his mother's house unless in court.
