10/26/15  Camden Man Killed In Car-Truck Collision Friday

 

A 73 year old Camden man died in a car-truck collision on state highway 7 just north of Smackover on Friday.

According to a state police report, a 1994 Ford pickup, driven by Max Roe of Camden was merging onto highway 7 from state highway 79-B at  Smackover and pulled into the path of a Peter Bilt truck.  The driver of the truck applied his brakes but unable to avoid hitting Roe's pickup.  The impact caused Roe's truck to leave the highway and strike a tree. 

Roe was pronounced dead at the scene by Union County Coroner Curtis Butterfield, It was raining at the time of the crash at 2:45 Friday afternoon. Corporal Chris Lynch of the State Police investigated the crash.
