10/19/15  Monticello to Host Highway Public Meeting Tomorrow

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department is hosting a public meeting tomorrow in Monticello as a part of the process in updating its Long Range Intermodal Transportation Plan.

The L-R-I-T-P contains the goals, objectives, policies, investment strategies and performance measures that will guide the state's future transportation investments.  It will examine all the pieces of the state's transportation system, including highways, bridges, public transportation, rail, bicycle and pedestrian, ports and waterways, and aviation.

The meeting will follow an open house format and will be held tomorrow afternoon from 4-6pm at the University Center at UA-M on University Drive. This is one in a series of meetings designed to given citizens the opportunity to share their opinions of the Long Range Intermodal Transportation Plan's goals, objectives and transportation challenges that impact safety, mobility and accessibility. If you have questions about the meetings, call 501-569-4937.
