10/13/15  Bearden School Board Zone 3 An 6 Get Appointed Members To the Board

At their meeting last Tuesday night, the Bearden School Board appointed board member Bobby Steelman to the Zone 3 seat on the board and Doug Easterly of Thornton to the Zone 6 seat.  At the time of filing for re-election, Steelman was in the hospital and Easterly had some of the signatures on his petition kicked back, so the board had to appoint them to office.  Karen Castleberry had been appointed at an earlier meeting to take the seat of William Bussell in Zone 1.  Bussell moved from the district.

Doris Parham was re-elected President of the board.  Joannie Casey was re-elected vice president.  Doug Easterly was re-elected to the secretary's job and Don Cain was re-elected alternate disbursing officer for the district. The board approved ex-officio financial secretary for the district, Denny Rozenberg, Kaye Livingston, District Treasurer.  The board also appointed high school principal Felecia Doster and elementary school principal Sonya Launius as officials for their respective schools.

The board approved the 2015-2016 budget for cycle one and approved the annual financial report. Superintendent Rozenberg reported to the board that Bearden has 25 students in vo-tech classes at SAU Tech.  The time of the meeting was changed from Thursday night to Tuesday night due to a ballgame.
