10/08/15  Arkansas Department of Health Announces Flu schedule

 

The Arkansas Department of Health has announced plans to provide flu vaccines statewide in preparation for the 2015-2016 flu season.The department says each county health unit in the state will be hosting mass flu vaccine clinics during October and November.  The clinics are typically a daylong event when the health unit and community volunteers provide flu vaccine to as many people as possible.

People should bring their insurance cards to the flu vaccine clinic, however, the vaccine will be made available at no charge to those without insurance or if insurance doesn't cover the  vaccine. Health department reports show more than 70 people died due to the influenza last flu season.

Here are the dates and times for clinics in this area of the state:

In Dallas County, a clinic will be set up on Friday, October 30, at Beech Grove Baptist Church Life center, from 7:30am till 5pm.

In Calhoun County, the clinic will be on Friday, October 23,  from 8am till 4pm at LHU at 1119 Prestress Drive.

There will be 5 clinics in Cleveland county., the first will be Saturday, October 17 at Pioneer Village in Rison from 10am till 2pm.  Another clinic will be held on Friday, October 30,  at the Cleveland County Health Unit on East Magnolia in Rison from 9am till 3pm.  There will be two more clinics in Cleveland county on November 3. One at Kingsland City Hall from 9am till 11:30am, and at the New Edinburg community center on Highway 8, from 1-4pm. The last flu clinic in Cleveland county is scheduled for November 5, at Woodlawn High School on highway 63..from 12:30pm till 6pm.

In Grant County, the flu clinic will be held on Friday, October 23,  at 1511 Rose Street from 8am till 6pm.

In Pine Bluff, the clinic will be set up at the Pine Bluff Convention Center on Friday, October 30,  from 8am till 4:30pm.

In Camden, on Tuesday, October 27, the flu clinic will be set up at Assembly of God Church at 1275 Maul road. The hours are 7:30am till 5:30pm.
