10/05/15  SAU Magnolia To Celebrate 100th Homecoming

Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia will celebrate its 100^th homecoming with several events this week leading up to the October 10 anniversary. The 4,138 student campus will start the festivities with a pep rally in the Greek Theater at 6pm this evening. 

Other events this week include a drive-in movie tomorrow in the Donald W. Reynolds Campus and Community Center parking lot and the Great SAU campout and bonfire on Friday. Saturday's events include 100 years Royalty Brunch in the Reynolds Center's Grand Hall at 11am, Mulegating on the Ridge and the football game, SAU versus Oklahoma Baptist University at 2:30pm.

The Magnolia University had its first homecoming football game in 1915, when it was known as the Third District Agriculture School.  At that time the Muleriders were called the Magnolia Aggies, who celebrated a 7-0 win against the Boll Weevils on Thanksgiving.
