09/30/15  Two Charged With Burglary in Ouachita County

Thirty-seven year old Travis Collier of Marked Tree and 44 year old Gary Hooks of Chidester have been charged in connection with a break-in of a shed belonging to Vickie Walker who resides on Ouachita 76.  Walker told investigators this is the second time the shed had been broken into.

After the first break-in she installed some trail cameras and had pictures of two men who broke into her shed.  One man was identified by authorities as Gary Hooker of Chidester. When officers searched Hooker's property they found some of the items taken in the break-in.  Officers also contacted Travis Collier who admitted to participating in the break-in with Hooks but said he didn't have anything to do with the first break-in. Hooks advised officers they could find more of the stolen property at Wesley Dixon's residence.

Hooker was charged with four counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft of property, possession of a firearm by a felon and will be tried under the habitual offender statute.  Hooker has two prior convictions of possession of a firearm by a felon, a total of seven felony convictions, he has three felony charges still pending in court.

Collier was charged with breaking and entering and theft of property. Nothing is contained in the report as to whether Wesley Dixon was charged.
