09/23/15  Brown Charged With Theft And Forgery

On September 17, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Tom Wynne filed charges of theft of property and two counts of forgery against 29 year old Jamie Brown of Fordyce.

On July 12,  Brisco Jones reported to police that Jones had stolen his wallet and cell phone from his home.  The next day police responded to the Gulf station off the by-pass on a report that  Brown had used Jones' credit card at the store.  Brown was found by police next door at a car wash and was confronted about possession of  Jones' credit card and she responded that Jones had given her permission to use the card.

Wynne will seek to have Brown tried under the habitual criminal law that allows the judge to levy more jail time. Brown's past criminal record includes three felony charges in 2013..aggravated assault, 2nd degree forgery and theft of property.
