09/18/15  Four Criminal Charges In Latest Dallas County Circuit Court

 

Four area residents have had criminal charges filed against them in Dallas County Circuit Court last week. Thirty-year-old Tyrone Harris of Fordyce has been charged with aggravated assault.  According to information filed with the court from the Prosecuting Attorney's office, on June 4, Terry Poole reported to police that he was assaulted by Tyrone Harris as Poole walked home from a friend's house on Holmes Street. Poole reported that Harris, also known at T-Bone, assaulted him and robbed  him.  Poole was knocked unconsious and was treated for broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

Sixty-one-year old Clemestine Vassar of Fordyce has been charged with terroristic threatening.  On May 16, Shirley Williams reported that Vassar came onto her property as Williams was attempting to leave in her vehicle. Williams said Vassar struck her and threatened her life and the life of her family.

A Bearden man has been charged with 2nd degree forgery.  On May 29, Douglas Palmer of Hampton filed a report with the Hampton Police Department that 50 year old James Thomas Walthall of Bearden had forged his signature  on two checks from a Smackover Bank. Hampton police chief Cole Knoedle said in the report that Walthall admitting to writing the checks. The prosecutor will also try Walthall under the habitual criminal statute that allows the judge to tack on additional jail time.

Twenty-one-year-old Jordan Allen Moffett of Fordyce has been charged with first degree terroristic threatening that was the result of a confrontation between Moffet, his brother and step father on July 20.  Moffett threatened to kill the two men.
