09/18/15  Daughters of American Revolution Constitution Week

This is Constitution Week, commemoration of America's most important document.  It's celebrated annually during the week of September 17-23. The celebration of the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Melrose Bagwell of the D-A-R in Fordyce says there were 39 signors of the Constitution...representing 12 states.

Bagwell read an important part of the constitution that's largely being ignored in Washington.

The Dallas County museum has displays of the Constitution and you can sign a duplicate. The aims of the Constitution Week celebration are to emphasize citizens' responsibilities for protecting and defending the Constitution. Inform people that the Constitution is the basis for America's great heritage and the foundation for our way of life. And to encourage the study of the historical events which led to the framing of the Constitution in September 1787.
