09/15/15  Ouachita County Escapee Back In Custody

Austin Hill, an escapee from the Ouachita County Detention facility at Camden is back in custody.  Hill, who was being held on capital murder and aggravated robbery charges at the Camden jail, escaped custody last Wednesday after he got away from deputies as he was being unloaded behind the jail while being taken to the hospital for treatment of a broken wrist. Hill eluded authorities until about noon yesterday when he was taken into custody at Bryant.

According to Ouachita County Sheriff David Norwood, Hill stole a car early yesterday morning from Wood's place in Camden.  Norwood said the video at Wood's, showed the theft occurred around 1:30 yesterday morning.  The vehicle ran out of gas on I-30 at Bryant, and Hill was taken into custody. Hill is being brought back to Camden by Ouachita County deputies. Norwood said Hill will face additional charges, including two counts of commercial burglary for breaking into the Donut Palace.  That burglary  occurred lSunday night around 11:30.  He'll also face auto theft charges.

Hill was charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery last December in the shooting death of grocery store manager Richard Anders.  Anders was shot to death in the parking lot of the store and robbed of the store's receipts he was going to deposit in a nearby bank. Hill has yet to stand trial for that crime.
