09/14/15  Bearden Raises Half of the Money Needed To Move The Old Depot

Bearden city councilwoman Denise Link, who's heading up the relocation of the old depot building in Bearden says about $6,000.00 has been raised so far of the $12,000.00 that's needed to move the building from it's present location just off 79-B.

Link says she and others interested in the project are going to look into getting a 501-C tax exemption which would be an incentive for larger contributors and to receive grant money.  

At a recent public meeting a suggestion was made to have a Depot Day the latter part of October to benefit the project. The location of the depot, which would be a combination library and museum, would be just off Cedar Street as you enter the city shop road.  Anyone who would like to contribute to the project can make their checks payable to Bearden Community Project and drop it off at the city clerk's office.
