09/11/15  Dallas County Fair Continues Today In Fordyce

The Dallas County Fair continues today at the fairgrounds site next to the City Hall complex in downtown Fordyce.  Exhibits will be open this morning from 9 till 11 to accommodate school groups..and will be open to the public from 2-8pm. The fair parade begins at 10am tomorrow morning at Beech Grove Baptist church. A gospel hour follows the parade at the fairgrounds stage at 11:30.  The Rotary egg toss at noon. The Fordyce Chamber of Commerce “Sticky Fingers BBQ” will get underway tomorrow morning at 6am..Candice McCollum, who's heading up the event said this year is the 3^rd year for the BBQ and this year's event is sanctioned and has five categories..something for everyone.

McCollum's hoping for 25 teams to participate this year, and she's looking for more local participation.

The winners will be dividing over three thousand dollars in prize money. The 3^rd annual Fordyce Music Festival gets underway at 1pm and goes till 7pm sponsored by Fordyce Bank and Mortgage. Among those featured at the music fest will be Phil Wallace and Shanna Dorey from 1-2pm; the White Mustang Band from 2:30-4pm and the Marshall Wallace Band will be on stage from 5-7pm. Tomorrow morning beginning at 9 is the livestock and horse show.  The exhibits will be open from 9am till 2pm tomorrow..
