09/10/15  A Fatality Each Day Tuesday And Wednesday

 

Arkansas State Police have reported a couple of fatal motor vehicle crashes in South Arkansas the past couple of days.

On Tuesday, 49 year old Floyd A. Stephenson Jr. of Crossett died when his 2009 Harley Davidson motor cycle collided with a car on    U-S highway 425 South in Drew County.  According to a report filed by Drew County Deputy David Parker, Stephenson was north bound on highway 425 when another vehicle pulled out in front of him.  The motor cycle struck the side of vehicle two as it was crossing the highway.  Stephenson died at the scene.  The driver of the other vehicle was not identified in the report. The weather conditions were clear, the road conditions dry at the time of the crash at 10:07am Tuesday morning.

 On Wednesday morning in Hempstead County, a one vehicle crash killed a 57 year old Blytheville man.  According to a State Police report, a 2012 Volvo, driven by Kenneth L. Deason of Blytheville was north bound on state highway 29 when his vehicle left the road and struck several trees.  Deason was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Ben Brazzell.  Skies were cloudy and the roadway wet at the time of the accident at 7:15 am Wednesday morning. State Trooper First Class David Hamilton investigated the crash.
