09/09/15  Dallas County Fair Starts Today

The Dallas County Fair and Livestock Show gets underway today and runs thru Saturday.  Today from 1:30-5:30pm..the setting up of booths, check-in and arrangements of exhibits takes place. The Livestock begins arriving at 4pm and may be checked in until 8pm.

Exhibits open to the public Thursday from 2-8pm.  Exhibits will be open Friday from 2-8pm and they'll be open from 9-11am Friday for school groups and open for the public at noon. The Fair parade will begin at 10am Saturday and line up at Beech Grove Baptist Church.  Following the parade, a gospel hour will be presented beginning at 11:30 at the fairgrounds.  The Rotary Egg Toss competition begins at noon.

The 3^rd annual Chamber of Commerce “Sticky Fingers BBQ” competition begins at 6am Saturday morning with participants vying for over 3 thousand dollars in prize money in five categories. The 3^rd annual Dallas County Music Festival gets underway at 1pm till 7pm sponsored by Fordyce Bank and Mortgage, featuring Phil Wallace and Shanna Dorey from 1-2pm; the White Mustang Band from 2:30 till 4pm and the Marshall Wallace Band from 5-7pm. The livestock and horse show begins at 9am Saturday followed by the annual premium sale.  Exhibits open Saturday 9am till 2pm.
