09/08/15  Bearden Residents To Meet Today Concerning Old Railroad Depot

Bearden residents and anyone else interested in moving the old railroad depot  back inside the Bearden city limits for possible use as a library-museum complex, is encouraged to attend a meeting this evening at 6pm at the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church in Bearden. According to Bearden councilwoman Denise Link, the cost of moving the depot is 12 thousand dollars.

There has already been some interest in what to put inside the museum.

Link said displays would be moved in and out of the museum to keep it interesting. Link said tonight's meeting will be an opportunity for residents to suggest ways to raise money for moving the depot. Anyone who would like to contribute to the project can drop your donation off at the city clerk's office with checks made payable to Bearden Community Project.  No city funds are being spent on moving the depot.
