09/07/15  A Case That Could End Forced Unionism Nationwide

According to the National Right To Work Legal Defense Foundation, a case just taken up by the Supreme Court could end public sector forced unionism nationwide.

Mark Mix, President of the Foundation, says forcing teachers and other  government employees to pay dues to a union they do not support as a condition of employment is now squarely before the court.  Mix says if a  favorable ruling is handed down by the nation's highest court, it would have sweeping ramifications beyond the First Amendment freedom of association rights of civil servants.

He says not only could it give every public employee in America Right To Work protections, but with government union bosses stripped of their forced dues powers to fund Big Labor's political agenda, the impact could be even bigger. Several state attorneys general are signing on to their own amicus brief.  Mix says the last he heard, Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has yet to sign on.
