09/07/15  Dallas County Museum Opens Annex That Includes Three Buildings

The Dallas County Museum has open an annex, that includes three buildings across the street from the Museum.  One of those buildings houses the Dallas County Sports Hall of Fame.  Anges Phillips was on South Arkansas Today on Friday to tell us all about it...she first talked about the centerpiece of the museum, Paul “Bear” Bryant.  The museum has the story about how Bryant got his nickname, ”Bear”..it also has a bronze bust of Bryant donated by the University of Alabama.  But Phillips said that's not the most important piece of history the museum contains about Bryant.

Phillips says there's some great displays about various coaches.

The museum includes a Larry Lacewell display.

Fordyce had the first football team.  Those are just some of the items you can enjoy in the Sports Hall of Fame at the annex of the Dallas County Museum.
