09/04/15  Fordyce Drug Store Armed Robbery suspect Charged

A 26 year old Fordyce man has been charged in the July 29 armed robbery of the Prescription Store in Fordyce.

According to charges filed on September 1st in Dallas County Circuit Court by Deputy Prosecutor Tom Wynne..Terry Wayne Jones II of Fordyce has been charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property and Wynne will seek to have him tried under the habitual criminal statute that allows for additional jail time.

Jones and an accomplice came into the Prescription Store, pointed a gun at owner John Dean, his wife and an employee and forced them into a back room. They took $1,500.00 in cash from Dean and his cell phone.  They also  took an undetermined amount of narcotics and demanded that Dean open the safe.  Dean told them there was no safe.  The two then disappeared from the store.

Dean was later able to ID Jones from a picture on his Ipad. We have not been able to find out if the other suspect involved in the robbery has been apprehended or charged. The robbery was one of a series of drug store robberies in South Arkansas.  The one at the Prescription Store was the only one that occurred in the daytime and the only armed robbery.  The others were break-ins.
