09/02/15  Pine Bluff Plaza Hotel Owner Turns Down $500,000.00 Offer

The owner of the now closed Plaza Hotel, adjacent to the Pine Bluff convention center, has rejected the offer of the city of Pine Bluff for the hotel.  The city had offered 500 thousand dollars. The owner of the hotel..Bruce Rahmani called the offer an insult, claiming he had spent 7,000,000.00 on the hotel.

Rahmani had offered to sell the 200 room hotel to the city for three million dollars, or lease it for 20 thousand a month. Alderman Glen Brown Sr. has suggested finding out what Rahmani owes and pay him close to that figure. Rahmani said his mortgage is 861 thousand dollars.
