09/01/15  Trials Set And Fines Levied In Bearden District Court

 

Four cases have been set for trial in District Court in Bearden, with Judge Dan Ives presiding.

24 year old Paige Richardson of Bearden will appear to answer to shoplifting charges filed against her on July 15.  The court ordered her to pay a total of $425.00 in fines and court costs.

21 year old Layne Cain of Bearden was charged on July 15, with possession of a controlled substance.  He was ordered to pay a total of $650.00 in fines and court costs.

31 year old James Roy of Sparkman on July 24,  was cited by City Marshall John Ainsworth for driving on a suspended license.  He was ordered to pay $250.00 dollars in fines and court costs.  Roy was also cited for failure to appear in court July 24, the judge added on $325.00 dollars in fines and court costs.

31 year old Michael Doherty of Bearden on August 12,  was cited for contempt of court dating back to June 18.  In addition to old fines totaling $885.00 dollars, Doherty was ordered to pay an additional $300.00 putting his total in fines and court costs at $1,185.00. All four are to appear in District Court on September 15.

Also in District Court, Tim Sullivan of Fordyce was stopped on May 27, by State Police during the “Click-It-Or-Ticket” campaign and given a ticket for failure to wear a seat belt.  He paid 50 dollars in fines and court costs.

On August 13, 31 year old Jason Chavis of Bearden was cited for contempt of court for failure to appear in court on June 18.  He owed $615.00 in fines. The judge added $300.00 to it and ordered Chavis to pay $180.00 the day of his court appearance and at least $100.00 per month until the fines are paid.
