08/28/15  Bearden School Planning To Install Panic Button

Arkansas students will have a higher level of protection this school year thanks to a bill sponsored in the legislature by State Representatives Scott Baltz and Bruce Cozart. Every public school student, faculty and staff member will be protected by Rave Panic Button, part of the the recently enacted 2015 School Safety Act. Use of the Panic Button will enable faster response to an active shooter or other emergency situation. School administrators will approve who has access to the panic button app on their phone.  The phone app will alert 911 immediately as it works hand-in-hand with the state's Smart 911 program. First responders will be able to pinpoint where the emergency is and better protect the students. Jonesboro was the first to go live with the program. Bearden Superintendent Denny Rozenberg says his school district is working to have the system installed
