08/24/15  Gary Smith Of Camden Says He'll Run For Baine's Post

Gary Smith of Camden, a former District 7 state representative has announced his intention to run for office again in 2016. The current representative, John Baine of El Dorado announced Thursday that he does not intend to run for re-election.   The 7^th District includes Ouachita, Calhoun and Union counties.

Smith completed two terms in the state's House of Representatives.  He also served on the Ouachita County Quorum Court and the Harmony Grove School Board. The primary election for the Arkansas House of Representatives will be held in May of next year.;
