08/24/15  Will The 30-Million-Dollar Defense Project Come To Camden?

According to Arkansas Economic Development Commission Executive Director Mike Preston, his agency has been told by Pentagon officials that an award of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Super Project will be announced either this Friday, August 28^th, September 4^th or 11^th.  Preston made the remarks during a speech he delivered at the Bean Hamilton Corporate Benefits 2015 Executive Forum at the Clinton Presidential Library last week.

At the request of Governor Asa Hutchinson, state lawmakers in May passed an 87 million dollar bond package to support Arkansas' effort to land the 30 billion dollar Joint Light Tactical Vehicle project, which would be located at Lockheed Martin's Camden facilities. .
