Melvin Leroy Jones of New Edinburg died Wednesday at St. John's Place in Fordyce.  He was 83. He retired as a Master Sergeant in the U-S Air Force after 23 years of service. He also retired from the Arkansas Highway Department as a supervisor for the auto-diesel mechanic division. Funeral services will be private.  Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
