08/19/15  Charges Filed In Camden Circuit Court Stemming From A Shooting In June

An 18 year old Camden resident has been charged in connection with a shooting incident at the Lincoln Center on June 5.

According to a police report filed with the charges in Circuit court in Camden, Jeffrey J. McKinney was charged by the prosecutor's office with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to a witness to the shooting McKinney drove by her and her son and two others, including a child in a stroller.  Angry words were exchanged between McKinney and her son Eric Easter.  McKinney got out of the car and pulled a gun from his waist band and fired several shots at her fleeing son.  No one was injured.

McKinney later told investigators he did the shooting because he feared that Easter and his friends were going to jump him. He said he fired over everyone's head.
