08/14/15  Two State Troopers From Pine Bluff Promoted

Two state troopers from Pine Bluff were promoted on Thursday during the regular monthly meeting of the Arkansas State Police Commission. 57-year-old Captain Ron Slayton was promoted to Major.  Slayton is a 30-year veteran of the department and is commander of the State Police Crimes Against Children Division.

55-year-old Lt. David Sims of Pine Bluff, currently assistant commander of Arkansas State Police Highway Patrol Division, Troop E in Pine Bluff, was promoted to the rank of captain.  He's a twenty year veteran of the department. Captain Sims will assume new duties as Troop E commander.
