08/14/15  Hope Man Dies In Auto Crash In Hempstead County

According to a state police traffic report..42 year old William J. Smith of Hope was killed in a two vehicle crash on Wednesday in Hempstead County.. on a county road about 5 miles east of Hope.

According to the report, a vehicle struck the rear end of a 1997 Jeep driven by Smith causing the vehicle to overturn.  Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Coroner Ben Brazzel.  The driver of the other vehicle involved was not identified in the report.

The weather conditions were clear, road conditions dry at the time of the crash Wednesday morning at 10:49.  State trooper Travis Hale investigated the crash.
