07/30/15  Aggravated Assault And Possession In Bearden

 

On Sunday, July 26, Ouachita County Deputy Rusty Bailey was called to back up Lt. James Bolton on a disturbance call on North 1st street in Bearden.  Robert Ferrell told deputies that his step son, Brand Juniel had been smoking dope in his house and he wanted him removed.  Lt. Bolton explained the proper procedure in getting Juniel removed from the property and the deputies left. Bailey and Bolton were called back to the same address shortly afterward. Ferrell said Juniel threatened him with a knife.  Officer Bailey asked Juniel if he had a knife, Juniel pulled it from his pocket and said “I do”.  He was told to drop the knife and get on the ground, Juniel first refused but finally was taken into custody. 

Ferrell said Juniel told him he was going to kill him and break the knife off in his head. Prior to being placed in the police car, officers found a glass pipe suspected to be used for smoking  meth was found in Juniel's left front pocket. He was taken the the Ouachita County Detention Complex and was charged with aggravated assault and possession of an instrument of crime. The knife in Juniel's possession was about 10 inches long with a blade almost six inches long.
