07/27/15  DeQueen Man Dies In Crash In Garland County

 

A man from DeQueen died Saturday in a one vehicle crash in Garland County on Highway 70 east of Hot Springs. According to a state police report  Bernebe Figueroa died at the scene of the crash and four other people were injured.  The report states that a 2001 Ford Excursion, driven by 55 year old Maria Figueroa of DeQueen was traveling west on highway 70 when the vehicle crossed the east bound lanes, left the road and struck a tree.  The vehicle then overturned several times. 

Bernebe Figueroa was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jason Neighbors. Maria Figueroa and three other passengers, Rosa Valazuez, Rosalinda Figueroa  and Esperanza Trojillo, all of DeQueen were taken to hospitals in Hot Springs and Little Rock for treatment.  The crash was investigated by Trooper Andrew Ault.  Weather conditions were clear, road conditions dry at the time of the crash at 7:35 Saturday morning.
