07/21/15  Six Die On Arkansas Highways Over The Weekend

 

Arkansas State Police say six people died in four separate auto crashes in the state over the weekend, including a triple fatality in Howard County. 

State police report 23 year old Jose Puente of Ozan, 20 year old Jesus Puente of Ozan and 2 6 year old Blake Harding of Nashville died Saturday when the car driven by Jose Puente went off U-S Highway 278 north of Nashville and crashed into several trees.

In Chicot County on Friday evening a two car crash on Highway 65 North at Highway 35 killed 88 year old Jessie Yee of Dermott.  According to the State police report a 2011 Nissan driven by 54 year old William C. Salaun of Covington, Louisiana was southbound on highway 65.  A 2009 Toyota, driven by 58 year old Peter Yee of Dermott was eastbound on highway 35.  Yee failed to yield and was struck by Salaun's vehicle.  Mrs. Yee died at the scene.  Peter Yee was taken to UAMS in Little Rock.  Salaun was not injured. The accident was investigated by Corporal D.M. Grant.  Weather conditions were clear, the road conditions dry at the time of the crash at 5:46pm on Friday.

Two other fatalities on Saturday..55 year old Robert Earls of Havana was killed when the pickup truck he was driving went off Highway 309 in Logan County and struck a tree.

The six fatality killed a Perryville man.  The state police report says 52 year old Michael Dean Munn died Saturday when the motorcycle he was driving crossed the center line of Highway 9 and collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by 61 year old Rocky Lynn Foster of Danville.  Foster was not injured. Munn was pronounced dead at the scene by Perry County Coroner Billy Green.
