07/20/15  Vehicle And Firearms Thefts Being Investigated By Dallas County Sheriff's Office

 

Dallas County Sheriff's were called out on a couple of theft cases earlier in the month. On July 9, Elaine Rainey, who resides at 30 highway 229 outside Fordyce called the Sheriff's office about a theft.  Deputy Keith Axsom says in a report that Rainey that someone had stolen her truck.  She said her truck was at her home at 10pm July 8.  At 5:30 the next morning when she went outside to walk her dog, the truck was missing.  Rainey said the truck was parked under the carport and there were tracks leading out to the road and across the ditch. A description of the truck was not available in the report.

On July 7, Dallas County Deputy Jim Johnson responded to another theft report.  Wesley Howard, who resides on Dallas County Road 276 at Holly  Springs told Johnson he had left his home on July 3rd and  when he returned on the 5th he discovered someone had taken his Marlin 30-30 rifle.  Howard said his wife had company over the weekend when he was not there and said he knew some of the people present.  No further information was available. The thefts are under investigation.
