07/20/15  Man Arrested At A Fordyce Motel And Charged With Forgery And Identity Theft

 

On July 9, Dallas County Sheriff Stan McGhee was contacted by the Grant County Sheriff's office in reference to the arrest of an individual who possessed a key to a Fordyce motel. The Sheriff was informed the individual in custody had been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of  meth. The man, identified only as Huit also had the keys to another vehicle.

According to a report written by Deputy Ronnie Smith. Smith and Sheriff McGhee went to A-OK motel and made contact with a man identified as Mark McClure. McClure said he and Huit were both staying at the motel and were in Fordyce working with T-mobile.

McClure was asked if there was any illegal narcotics in the room and he said no. McClure gave his consent and during the search several blank checks along with other documents that contained individual personal information, dates of birth, social security numbers, drivers license numbers and numbers that appeared to be bank accounts numbers were found, also a printer with check printing  software and boxes of blank check stock.  Several checks printed to several business accounts were also recovered. Sheriff McGhee contacted one of the businesses and was informed that some of the checks had been stolen. 

McClure was arrested and taken into custody on charges of forgery and identity theft.  The case is still being investigated.
