07/10/15  Draw Down In Progress At Tri-County Lake

The draw down has begun at Tri-County Lake near Fordyce.  According to Arkansas Game and Fish Biologist Andy Yung of the Camden office..the lake will be lowered five feet and held there until late fall. Yung, on KQ-102.3's South Arkansas Sunrise,  yesterday said there's more than one reason for the drawn down, one goal is to increase the size of the fish.

Yung said the draw down has a another benefit.

Prior to 2000, winter draw downs were conducted on Tri-County Lake every five years.  Since that time, silt and nuisance vegetation, as well as stunted fish populations have become problematic. If you have question for Yung, you can call the Camden office at  877-836-4612.
