07/10/15  Time Is Running Out For Soybean Producers to Enter Contest

Soybean producers have until August 1,  to enter the 2015 Grow for the Green Soybean Yield Challenge, sponsored by the Arkansas Soybean Association. The contest is in its 5^th year and is open to all Arkansas soybean farmers.

The top three producers in seven regions in the state who produce yields of at least 60 bushels per acre will be awarded cash prizes at the association's annual meeting in January. First place winners receive 75 hundred dollars, second place winners 5 thousand and third place received 25 hundred dollars. The state's top producer across all categories will receive additional prizes. The association is also offering a 10 thousand dollar bonus prize to producers who hit 120 bushels be acre by 2020.

Soybean producers will plant about 3 point 3 million acres of soybeans this year.
