07/08/15   $4,000,000.00 Approved for Ouachita County Projects

The JP's on the Ouachita County Quorum court gave their unanimous approval to move forward with approximately 4 million dollars in construction projects for the county.  The projects include an addition to the  Ouachita County jail, a courtroom addition at the Detention Center site and reroofing the Ouachita County courthouse. In a letter to Ouachita County Judge Robbie McAdoo, Southbuild executive James Langford noted that the budgets presented are based on today's costs and budget projections were made six months ago. JP Dennis Truelove, who is vice chairman of the quorum court's law enforcement committee told us what he likes about the proposed project.

Truelove said this is not the first time Ouachita county has expanded its jail facilities,

Truelove was asked when the project will be started,

The date and time for the public meeting to ask questions about the project and ask questions will be announced later.
