07/06/15   State Prison Escapee Is Back In Custody.

 

Arkansas Department of Correction spokeswoman Cathy Frye says Jason Satterfield was found by authorities around 2 Friday afternoon walking along Highway 161 near North Little Rock.  He was taken into custody without incident. Prison officials say the 44 year old work-release inmate escaped after stealing 190 dollars and a truck from Whitten Concrete Co. in Pine Bluff Thursday morning.

 Satterfield is serving a 15 year sentence for a hot check violation and has  previous convictions for fraud and forgery. Following questioning at the Pine Bluff unit, Satterfield was sent to a maximum security lockup.

There are still four state prison escapees who have not been captured.. Hugo Campagne escaped March 3, 2001; Gene Thomas escaped July 5th, 1988; Steven Dishman escaped May 28th, 1985 and Veal Lee escaped July 15th, 1984.  All were convicted of non-violent offenses.
