07/02/15   Bearden Man Charged With Several Offenses

 

A 33 year old Bearden man has been charged with several felony drug charges as the result of a traffic stop in Bearden on April 18.  According to a police report filed with the charges in Circuit Court in Camden, Kenny Rogers of Bearden was pulled over by state trooper Frank Remick on failure to wear his seatbelt.  Remick discovered Rogers' drivers license had been suspended and the officer could smell the strong aroma of marijuana.  During a search of Rogers' vehicle, Remick discovered a small baggie of marijuana, two small bags of suspected meth and two yellow pills believed to be Xanax.  Rogers told the officer he had smoked earlier in the day and a girl left the marijuana in his vehicle. Rogers was charged by deputy prosecutor Phillip A. Stone with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, possession of meth, possession of a schedule IV narcotic, .Xanax, not wearing a seat belt and driving on a suspended license.
